How to use XPTables in XPSWMM?
source: Innovyze Support Portal
An attribute table is the main reason GIS is a much better data platform than CAD. When working with large models in XPSWMM, as a modeler you need to think more like an GIS guy rather than a CAD designer to manage your modeling data. XPTables is what an attribute table to a GIS layer for an XPSWMM model, but with more to offer.
Get familiar with XPTables
The easiest way to get familiar with XPTables is to create a project from the default template.
Start a new project from template.

Select the template in the installation folder,

Then open the XP Table tab,

To to the XP Table List,
- each XP table is a tab in this view like an Excel tab
- You can turn the table on and off using the checkbox (2)

To see the variables in each tab, open the variable select window.

Since XPSWMM has a very long list of variables, knowing which variable is which can take some time to research. There are two types of variables, input data and results data,
- input data can be found through the user interface. Hover your mouse over the input box to see the label and variable name in the tooltip.

- results are reported in various tables in the logs. Getting familiar with the logs is needed to create new XP table.
